Attestations
The German Embassy can issue certain attestations. For example:
- Attestation of life (Lebensbescheinigung) for the German retirement Service (Deutsche Rentenversicherung)
- Attestation of having crossed the border (Grenzübertrittsbescheinigung)
- In order to receive an attestation to close a blocked bank account for students, please contact us via our contact form subject “closure of blocked account”. Please include a scan of
- your passport
- the confirmation of your blocked account
Important! If you have made a remonstration in the case of a refused visa, you must first also expressly revoke this by e-mail to the Embassy. As long as a decision on the remonstration has not been made, the blocking notice cannot be released to the bank.
Additional content
When notarising a signature, the consular official confirms that you have personally signed or recognised your signature on a document.
Please bring the document and an identity card or passport with you to the appointment.
Notarisation of copies of German documents is possible. The original document whose copy you wish to have notarised must be presented at the appointment. The legalisation of copies will only be carried out to a reasonable extent.
Notarisations are subject to a fee. The fee of FCFA 15,000 per copy can only be paid in cash.
Please book your appointment for a notarisation via this link.
Legalisation of copies of foreign (including Cameroonian) documents is generally not possible at the German Embassy. Cameroonian documents cannot be recognised without further ado due to the unreliable document system. The legalisation procedure is suspended.
Although the legalisation of a photocopy of a foreign document does not constitute a confirmation of the authenticity of this document, it is often perceived as such by the final recipient. The German Embassy can therefore regularly not legalise copies of Cameroonian documents in order to avoid a false legal appearance.
