Follow the following three steps while preparing your application::

Important Notice: All requested documents must be submitted in original with two additional photocopies. All documents written in languages other than German, English and French must be translated into German.
Original documents will be returned directly after filing the application.

Appointment booking
Please book for the visa application an appointment in the respective category. An appointment booked in the wrong category leads to an immediate rejection of your application. You can find the regular waiting time for other long-stay visa in the category “Appointment booking.”


Fees
50.000 FCFA for applicants from the age of 18
25.000 FCFA for applicants up to the age of 18


Processing time
The proceeding time depends on the competent foreigners registration authority or on the Federal Labour Office and takes at present in general two months. Questions concerning the state of the process are not answered before the deadline for applications.

If you have an employment contract for a company in Germany, you can apply for a visa for purpose of gainful employment.
Please note that there are different requirements for every professional groups and that not every employment contract allows to apply for a visa.

Please note that no cooperation exists between the Embassy and training mediators from Cameroon nor with training centers in Germany. No special agreements (for example concerning the language certificates or privileged appointments) can be made.


Language skills
In general, at least language knowledge corresponding to level A2 must be provided. In case of health professions (for example nursing / elderly care), language knowledge corresponding to level B1 must be proved.
Please note that only language ALTE certificates are recognized (Goethe-Institut, ÖSD, telc, TestDaf).

Please note the following requirement:

  • Age: between 18 and 26 years
  • Duration of stay: 6 months to 1 year
  • At least one minor in the host family
  • No family relation between the AuPair and the host family
  • The host family cannot have the nationality of the applicant

The stay as AuPair is a limited stay admitted only for the duration of maximum 12 month. The AuPair stay shall not be considered as a starting point for a permanent residency.
